What is this oil pipe?

Julian64 kindly allowed me to put my 4.5 on his 2 post lift and he spotted an oil hose that is not present on his car. The pipe runs backwards from the oil filter area on the passenger side, around the underside of the bell housing – behind the sump, then towards the front of the car and connects to the pressure relief spring area. The hose has some heat shield wrapped around it and looks as if it could easily get ripped off if I bottomed the car on a speed bump.

Any ideas as to why it is not on Julian’s car? Cars are same year and spec.
