Hello guys,

I am after some air box back plates as after removing the induction and fuel rail a couple of weeks back to replace a coil pack, I noticed that the back plates are quite badly crushed/heat damaged where the intake hoses clamp to. Also, any other info on what others may have done if they have faced similar issues would be great.

Thanks!

They can be refurbed/reinforced. If you can find some metal tube whose OD is the same as the ID of the airbox, cut the tube into rings and shove them in there with some fibreglass resin. Not done this myself as mine haven't been crushed but should be quite doable as a DIY.

Aye lad, the arbiter of all our pleasures hehe

(Congratulations on your SPRINT photo placing, by the way. I would have voted it No. 1.)

Thanks for your feedback guys, the ACT kit would be great, but with replacing the radiator for an Aluminium version this month, I need to refresh the piggy bank before I lay out for those. Found a passenger side backplate, now just for the drivers side....

Joolz refurbished mine.
He reinforced each intake with metal rings and recovered them in mastic.

They are a bargain. I've repaired mine twice now and they are a far better proposition...
