As above, what are you trying to cure? If the engine has a problem, look to getting it fixed properly. This is a brief but interesting read on the Opie Oils website.http://www.opieoils.co.uk/pdfs/tech-articles/Aftermarket-oil-additives.pdf
I dont know if Slick 50 falls into the category of additive described in that article, but surely if it was so good, a major oil company/car manufacturer, would have bought bought or licensed it years ago.

I wasn't trying to overcome any problems.
I doub't you would ever notice any improvements with it in (despite their claims of extra performance) but I do remember a time many many moons ago when a cracked sump meant all my oil was ejected rather rapidly from one of my cars and I feel this stuff helped prevent any wear. But this was before synthetic oils. So as has been mentioned if there was some magical ingredient to it then it would be in all the major oils by now.
But then and again it has been around for so many years now if it was 'fake' surely it would have stopped selling!! (I know that is not always the case tho.)
Just for reference I am using Shell Helix and never had any problems and it uses very little oil.
I was just curious that was all.
