Firstly, hello again! For various reasons I needed to SORN the Cerb last March and haven't really been on PH a great deal since. I'm glad to report that the Cerb is now back on the road having flown through it's MoT a couple of weeks ago!
That said I do need to address a few issues, one being the starter motor. I need to replace it as it's become unreliable and I wondered if anyone could me some feedback on this on http://www.racetechdirect.co.uk/tvr-car-part-e2101...
Has anyone bought one of these? And has it been reliable?
Thanks

If you order:

you can overhaul your starter with these original Tilton parts for about 110 Pounds. Maybe you have to use your old solenoid-spring, the new one won´t fit. In my case the starter worked perfect.
Cheers

They are handy to know.

I did post a few comments about the replacement parts from Ccw on another post but in summary, solenoid is ideal, but the the plate I front of the gear that nagged the flywheel hasn't been manufactured correctly and basically the recess that the gear is supposed to sit in isn't wide enough and the gear rubs on the plate. I did not notice it on the 1st one I bought but 6 months later and a few metal shards were present where the gear had worn against the plate. I did email Ccw but haven't had a reply yet.
