Hi

Few questions if I may, so I've had a chimaera I've had a Tuscan now it's time for a Cerbrera. After going in Martins (gruffalo) I want one and I want one now.

I have a few questions,

Having a 20 month old and another arrival in July I will need some baby seats, do standard ones fit?

The car I'm looking at is original so looking to get the Tuscan alloys, straight forward swop or do I need to change the hub and all that stuff.. It was messy to do it with the chimaera, but I think it's more straight forward?

Hi. I have two little ones - one 3 and the other 16 months.

Most child seats wont fit, but there are original TVR seats occassionally for sale, or the original Recaro Start seat (the current model is much bulkier) and finally the Jane Montecarlo R1 seats fit - which is what we went for. Very reasonably priced too. They're a Stage 2 seat though so 9 months upwards I'm afraid. You'll see from the photos below that whilst these fit fine, you've not got a cat in hell's chance of getting a rear facing Stage 1 seat in the back. Maybe in the front but that would be a real faff if you're putting the wife in the back and loading the baby in yourself or whatever.

And personally, although Spiders look quite nice (the fronts look weird because the tyres are too stretched IMO) they simply aren't fit for purpose. They are heavy which doesn't flatter the handling, but they are just so soft that buckling them and replacing them regularly is inevitable rather than a rare event.

I had a borrowed set on mine for a fortnight and I spent the whole time tramlining on it's naff Toyo tyres and weaving around potholes and they still went back with a buckly. They are completely and utterly unsuitable for use on anything rougher than a newly built runway.

If you really must put Spiders on it, then keep the original wheels (because A you'll need them soon after and B because it's always nice to be able to go back to the unmolested look for best resale value) but you won't need to change the hubs or anything. You do need to use 4 Tuscan rears though, and lots of them rub the inside of the rim on the upper wishbone on full lock which is another PITA. Lock stops are available though to reduce your steering lock to work around them.

Tuscan fronts and rears do have different offsets so might affect the handling. Also I think part-worns off another car will always feel strange as the tyres have worn in to a different suspension.

Totally agree about the Tuscan wheels being too soft, I'm sure you can find something lighter and stronger!

You do need fronts all round but rears might fit the rear but might rub.
The plastic lock stops will be needed on the rack to avoid rubbing wheels....

Thanks for the heads up with the seating requirements.
