Evening all

Had a great day yesterday and today, picked up the Cerbera from Aberdeen then drove down via A702 (mega), through the Lake District via Grasmere, down to Skipton over the moors then on to Huddersfield.

Scraped the bottom of it three times! Been going over speed bumps etc very slowly but still managed it on things a "normal" car wouldn't notice. It's a hideous noise!

How long does it take to get the judgement right of what you can make it over?!?

You'll learn quick - trust me. Which Cerb did you buy? There are a few up here but most rarely venture outside and of those which do I know they haven't been sold smile

Not a pleasant sound I would have a quick look underneath .usually the exhaust that takes the hit but some times takes a chunk out of the fiberglass .

I've had a silver-blue speed six off a guy in Aberdeen, nice fella and cars in decent condition. Stunned by the performance, I really am. The work history was extensive and every box ticked. With the added bonus of a Pizza Hut lunch by the sea with an old friend of mine.

There was a silver-blue Speed Six parked next to me at Crathes today which left early... Not you I assume?

Looking underneath there's a decent bit of metal under front seats which takes the impact (good protection but paradoxically worsens the grounding problem), and fibreglass is all ok. Just a hideous noise! And I think I manage to convince myself its making different noises and sounds as a result, but all looks ok.

Ah I see. Well I hope you enjoy it - Cerberas are incredible!

As for the scraping; mine has non-standard exhausts which catch everything. When it catches on the middle, I've found witness marks on the 22mm (I think, from memory) bolt heads holding the chassis brace to the lower rails.

Were you passing through Skipton at about 2.30pm yesterday? If so then I saw you pass the end of my road as I was about to pull out in mine, don't often see another Cerb in my turf so I hope you enjoyed your visit.

Were the speed bunps the ones going out over Ilkley moor? They are a real pain aren't they, I have to avoid that road now which is annoying as it's a really good road, despite the speed restrictions now.

Have fun.

Yes, that would have been us! No, speed bump was near Loch Levan and the road was the one over saddleworth moor to Upper Mill this morning.

Skipton was a pleasure, really pleasant place. Road there from Kirby Lonsdale was lovely and scenic but let own by volume of traffic, plus, due to some "exuberance" on the A702 Saturday evening, I was instructed to go a bit slower... :-)

I find the Cerb very frustrating on B roads, as I can drive both my other cars (including my 599cc Smart) far quicker because I'm not scared of grounding them. And my Cerb is pretty close to correct ride height, with standard springs and new Protechs.

I have no fear of grounding either apart from speed bumps. Country roads are no problem at all. My biggest constraint on B-roads is stopping in what I can see for when I meet a Q7 coming the other way on both sides of the road.

I don't have any issues when pressing on in mine on B roads either. Even the most savage bumps don't cause any scrappage.

I have Nitrons running 600 Lbs front springs and 450 rear set to standard ride height. The dampening quality is superb, it feel very planted and not over stiff either. I was previously running the standard Nitron springs but these were a bit too soft in my experience.

The car had too dive under breaking (albeit it also had huge squat under acceleration which was great for traction) and would compress too much under heavy bumps. I would say the ride quality is better now in almost all circumstances and the handling is the best it has ever been. I have also disconnected my rear ARB too.

Considered installing a lifter kit to raise the car when needed?
