For the last couple of weeks ive had problems engaging most gears, looked through the forum and expected a fingers or slave/cyl problem. Took it to my local dealer (good guys ive used before) who have stripped the clutch etc.

They tell me that the plate is 90% worn (it wasnt slipping)and that the slave cylinder doesnt look knackered. They have suggested replacing clutch and cylinder seals, but admit they cant guarantee this will fix the problem. They are using the TVR dealer extranet to try to find a similar fault.

Anyone have any ideas please?

You might have the dubious honour of being the first to actually wear out a clutch in a Cerbera, most people replace them when the fingers go or the slave is being done

From the symptoms I would have said fingers, but if you've opened it up and they look ok, then no idea...

I would have said the fingers as well, but as you've said, its ok.

What mileage has the car done?

You can get the friction plates re-lined for around £100 which is much less than a new clutch if all the other components are OK.

If the clutch is %90 worn the it would be worth ordering a new clutch as yours will go soon anyway and they seem to be quite rare at the moment so by the time you get it then you will be ready for one, if that makes sense!
