4.5 Raceproved clutch issues.
Discussion
Have been having clutch problems so decided to remove the gearbox and clutch assembly. The clutch has only lasted about 4k miles so when I found it was burnt out decided to do a further investigation.
The engine has the Raceproved lightened flywheel and the Raceproved slave cylinder with the standard twin plate AP clutch. With the new clutch fitted to the flywheel and the Bell housing bolted up, but without the gearbox fitted to the bell housing you can see that the thrust bearing is engaged onto the fingers on the clutch and putting them under pressure.
If I adjust the master cylinder / pedal rod it makes no difference the thrust bearing seems to be tight up against the fingers with no pressure on the pedal. I think this is what has caused the last clutch to fail?
So does anyone know if there is a modification that should have been done when using the RP flywheel and RP slave.

I believe that there are at least a couple, possibly 3 different heights of original slave cylinder. It sounds like the RP slave you have is the wrong height for the clutch.
I have an RP lightened flywheel and RP slave with a standard clutch pack and have adequate play between the thrust bearing and the release fingers.
