Is their any way of finding out whether my Sp6 was subject to a factory rebuild.

Might be worth speaking to Dom at Power, but I suspect only another rebuild will let you know. I'd just run it and if it goes wrong get it fixed....

Since factory rebuilds varied from a head gasket to a completely new engine I doubt whether there is a definative list and whether it would be of any value if it existed.

I would agree too. However, you might find some marks/codes around the engine number or on the cylinder head, like this here:
(hard to see but just above the TVR logo and on the left side too)
