Whilst I am there.. New heat shield (jackets) for the fuel lines/wiring..

Where from? Can only seem to find tape, or some of the 'jacket' type, but it's from the States..

I used this http://www.cbsonline.co.uk/category/Insulation/Tem...

Then tie wrapped it at intervals to tidy it up.

Which fuel lines benefit from this? Perhaps a bit of dim question, but i lack the car to look at at the moment.

Mine were protected/sleeved from where the feeds emerge through the bulkhead (under the expansion tank) until they reached the 'vee' of the engine/fuel rail. It that area they pass quite closely over the top of the passenger side exhaust manifold.

I replaced my fuel lines. When I did I ditched the by now ragged and frayed shielding with this:

http://www.thermalvelocity.co.uk/Line-&-Hose-P...

I decided to use it on ALL the fuel lines in the engine bay, my reasons being:

1) To replace the existing shielding mentioned above.
2) The fuel passes through the fuel cooler, then back over a hot engine. So I wanted to try and keep some of that cooling.
3) I felt that the rigid nature of the sleeve would give an added layer of protection as the hoses pass the air con belt (should it ever fail)
4) It looks neat.

I used marine grade 10mm ID (19mm OD) nitrile fuel hose (it's what the local hose supplier offered), the 3/4" cool sleeve slid over it just right. It's semi-rigid nature also prevented the new larger OD fuel hose from collapsing at the tight bends on the connections to/from the fuel rail.
