My air scoop for the air filter is missing( the one in front of the rad). Is it needed?

Not really, but will improve ram air effect at high speed a little.

There's enough pressure in the nose cone to force air into the airbox.

Mine went AWOL as well. Doesn't seem to affect performance smile

When doing a big clean-up I found that mine had its own eco-system growing in it.
I cleaned it all out and was able to do 240 mph in Tesco's car park afterwards.

Do a little search on google ram air induction effect.
Beneficial yes, how much, don't know. Requires a dyno and a comparison.
