Failed the MOT due to play in the rear nearside wheel bearing. How easy is it to replace. I have already had the rear wheel, caliper and disk off to have a quick look. I would need to purchase a 42mm socket and looks like I can get the complete wheel bearing from TVR Power, any other tools required. Is it a job for the pros or can I do it keeping in mind I have never done anything like this before? Is there any setup required after, etc

It's fairly simple DIY but just bear in mind the torque required on the hub nut and depending on which side of the car it is, one of the hub nuts is a LH thread (can't remember off-hand).

As for the bearing itself, IIRC it is Jeep part but a quick scan of the alternative parts list should give you all the details you need.

If you can't shift the nut, drive to your nearest garage and give them a fiver to loosen it for you. Alternatively spend a small fortune on a 3/4" breaker bar and socket.
