The plan was to finish putting the interior back in and get onto fitting new discs and pads so I can finally do some driving this year. New fuel hoses were going to be a winter job.

Backed it out of the garage yesterday, strong smell of fuel, lifted the bonnet and nearly passed out with the fumes. Hose to the pressure regulator is sopping wet with fuel and dripping onto the coil packs. Thinks "Maybe best not to leave the fuel hose until winter!"

So stripped the engine bay lines out and sealed the hard lines to make it safe.

After some research decided to go for stainless braided PTFE lined hose and AN -6 fittings from the same place I got the oil hose and fittings - Torques Products Ltd

Some info for anyone wanting to do the same
The spigots on the fuel cooler and pressure regulator are 8mm as are the hard lines under the expansion tank so AN -6 hose will fit nicely with suitable hard line to AN -6 adapters + straight connectors and hose finishers for the spigots (or maybe cut the spigot end and use more hard line adapters?). The adapter into the fuel rail (4.2) is 1/2 BSP so a male to male AN -6 for the right angle connector.

When I finally get it onto axle stands to fit the new discs I'll replace the hoses at the rear as well.

Thanks Mike for the info as this is a job I need to sort too. How much pipe did you need?

Last time it was just over 3m (by about 20cm IIRC) but I did allow plenty of hose for the bends up to the fuel rail and to the regulator.

However it was the bend on the hose to the regulator that had broken down, still too tight a bend I think.
So I have ordered 4 metres to experiment with a different angle of approach and a larger radius for the bend.

I was hoping to put a hard line adapter on the regulator by removing the end of the spigot and fit a 120 degree adapter to reduce the bend in the hose. But there isn't enough length of tube so it will have to stay as a push on connection with a hose finisher to clamp it up.

Stupid question maybe..

Can you use normal rubber hose with the annodised ends you'd normall use with stainless braided hose?
