The fittings will be corroded on and part of the hose, budget for new ones, I used hose tails and made my own hoses to the stat up. I had the bonnet off on mine so found it easier to remove the air scoop and take it out of the hole it left, needs mounting brackets off to take out. It's a tight ish fit.

Thanks gents...
My car is a 4.5, is there any difference between it and a 4.2?
Whats holding the oil cooler in place? I've unfastened the bolts holding the bottom of the plate on the inboard side of it but it isn't going anywhere at the moment...
Looks impossible without stripping the radiator out...
Feel like taking a chain saw to the thing

Have you removed the top bolt next to the vin plate ?My car is a 4.5, is there any difference between it and a 4.2?

Remove the oil cooler with its bracket in place.. One bolt next to the vin plate, 2 bolts at the bottom through the body work.
Remove the air filter housing and slide the whole lot through the hole.
And while I'm thinking about it... You ll need to un bolt the horn closest to the cooler to allow the cooler to get past
