Lightweight flywheel

Anybody running one ?

Sadly my gearbox blew on route to Lemans so box is coming out, option to fit new lightweight flywheel while in there .....

Clutch is already new and decided not to do flywheel then, but now box is coming out again it's decision time

Thoughts please

Std flywheel 6kg new lightweight one is 4kg

I have one, wouldn't go back to the heavy one now.

Did it effect low speed running at all ? idle ? round town stalling ? ect, love the way car drives at min and don't want to spoil things

I understand the benefits of having one but concerned about any downsides

Hi Tim

I have run a lightweight flywheel now for a number of years. The first thing I noticed was how much quicker the revs build up.

Never had a problem with tickover.

Then again, no two Cerbs are the same so it doesn't mean your car will be problem free.

No problem with tick-over and can potter around town quite easily, will pull away in first at tick-over but I do have my tick-over set at 1100RPM to keep the battery charging when fans on and stuck in traffic.

Car is much more responsive to throttle inputs with the light fly wheel.
