To be honest i've stopped competing with these 3 and 4 litre Audi/BMW type company cars, good bhp, lots of torque and drivers who don't give a s

There are some quickish diesels around but the ones driven like bellends are always a 1.whocares or 2.stillboring diesel.
I don't think they're even baiting for a show - they drive the same way around everyone* treating other roadusers as obstacles to be overcome regardless of danger and inconvenience to everyone else. I doubt they even register what kinds of cars they're doing it to - they just want to push their way to the front irrespective.

- apart from Scottish Insignia drivers whom I never notice in the daily drivers but seem to be tailgated and eventually overtaken by every time I'm on a NSL single carriageway doing around the speed limit in the Cerbera.
I thought I was being baited by a fettled Leon a couple of weeks back, but to the earlier point, turned out to be quite a nice chap ( /lad) who wanted to hear 4.5l of V8 rip past him, a few times.
Ended up at the same pub for lunch coincidentally - made his day!
So there's different perspectives to this and apparently they're not all twonks

I had a4 tail gating today. Then the dick decided to undertake. And continued all the way down the line in the fast lane.
From your description sounds like lots of people were offside lane hogging and said Audi driver was using the space in lane 2 which is fine as long as they didn't "undertake" at excessive speed! The main problem on motorways apart from Audi/Merc/BMW diesel driving tailgaters are pople losing the inability to drive on the left because they can't be arsed to swop lanes and plan ahead to overtake slow movers they then catch up.
Phew.... rant over .....

My observations are that the people to back off to let cars who have done what Audi man above do into the rightmost lane again once he reaches the obstruction in Lane 1 or 2 keep the overall speed of Lane 2 or 3 lower. If people were a little less keen to slow down to let others pull out, the traffic would thin out quicker and the need to slow down to let others pull out would evaporate very quickly. In short - just finish your overtake quickly and move left - stop frigging about letting people who can't plan ahead pull over at the expense of you and everyone waiting behind!
