A friend can't get his Cerbera started and needs to know where the fuel cut-off switch is likely to be located. 2000 model 4.5.

Any help, suggestions much appreciated.

Please email me if concerned with security

Why do you think it's that...I suggest it's the silver key.

Thanks for reply. He said a heavy object was thrown at the car prior to trying to start it which probably triggered the fuel cut-out switch but he can't find it. The silver key has never been used, he says.

Can be caught by the hand by mistake which will turn it off. The inertia switch it in the boot above the fuel tank needs checking.

Don't understand the reason for it happening but I'm not the brightest spark.

Hi Michael. He's checking for inertia switch in boot but can't find anything near the fuel tank except fuel sender unit and fuel feed pipe. Can you say exactly where it is?

Hi Russ, it has been a while, I'm good thanks. Hope you're well.

He doesn't think it's that as the car is turning over but not starting due to no fuel getting through

How does he know there is no fuel?

If its imob then keep finger on the starter for a minute.

I still think its the key of death

The AA's picking him up. He doesn't have a silver key, never has. Could be immobiliser but he's not convinced.

I guess he will pick up this thread when he's home.

Cheers all

He's found the switch and the car has started. Before you ask, he hasn't told me where the switch was

Thanks guys.
Michael you are a star :-) The switch was located screwed to the fibreglass just above and to the left side of the fuel tank hidden by carpet. Also slightly high up so you have to bend down to see it.

Basically the car was the hit three times by a psycho ex and a heavy plant pot. the car drove fine before and only after the impacts it failed to start. The police who I called insisted it be towed away from the scene and to their impound while i was giving statements. 3hrs and £180 later we pushed it out the pound I deduced that the fuel pump was not priming then the guy at the pound reminded me modern cars have a fuel cut out switch in case of accidents. and those heavy bangs to the car would have been enough to trigger it.
So there you go. for now lol

It needs a respray now that's for sure. But then it was getting to that point anyway.
