Been getting this recently after a run, and for the first time smelt it in the cabin. Can see no signs of leaks or anything else, car running sweetly. Is this common? The engine is a Speed 6.

Don't keep driving it until you've got it diagnosed, seriously.

There's been too many TVRs lost to fire, get the fuel hoses changed with quality hoses, we don't want to lose any more.

Every time you drive it you'll be risking it going up in flames which could cost you your car or your life. Seriously. Get it fixed ASAP. Fuel lines perish after a while and need replacing.

make sure the hose connecting the fuel tank to where you fill up is not come loose, check the boot on the pass side for fuel

There are several potential causes but the main culprits are perished fuel lines or a cracked manifold.

Either way, get it diagnosed ASAP and don't drive it until you have.

Had this happen with mine a year or so ago. Just two jubilee clips to tighten. No guarantees it is your fault but worth checking out.

Had this on my Tuscan. Throttles out of balance, ECU was trying to compensate with lots of fuel.

In my Cerb, the bottom corner of the tank developed a pinhole in a seam. It's amazing how much petrol can pish through a hole you can't even see... Once it soaks into the boot carpets, it doesn't take long for the smell to percolate through into the cabin.

Cheers all. Its not the fuel tank connector, boot is fine, smell comes frm engine bay. It does not appear to be fuel lines - no signs of any probs there. The throttle balance sounds the most likely cause - has recently been in for problems ticking over when cold, suspect that could be it.

hi

on my Tam, I had a similar problem, smell of gasoline.
When I looked, no, no leak, just the taste of gasoline inside the cabin.
I tell you, wipe out the matter immediately.
It would not be the first TVR who burned down.
The gasoline is so fine and it disappears so fast , you'll not see , only smell ...
Advice:
Take down the Airbox.
If your engine or transmission has been changed,
then it may be that, where the hard plastic pipes
go to the soft Gum-pipes, the clamp is not tight enough.
or the tube is not correct onto the other.

Check all clamps , Nuts etc. along the Fuel lines ...

In my case it was.

Good luck

Have a careful look at the top of the injectors as the o-rings sometimes get cut

Dear god on the link post.

When my lines went I was lucky I had just set off in reverse and noticed some liquid on the floor...fuel!

Get it checked before it checks out.

It's under investigation. Needless to say to smell petrol is erm, a concern.
