Cant jump start car or replace battery.
Discussion
Hi
Struggling this morning... My car is dead which isn't surprising as I went on holiday and forgot to connect the accumate.
However when connecting the battery from my wife's car using jump leads I get nothing. The immobiliser led doesn't start flashing and there is no starter functionality. Why would this be?
On a related note if I need to replace the battery due to deep disgracing it killing it, how do I retrieve it? I guess I have to remove the n/s airbox? I can't see how to do this either.

If its a 4.2, look inboard of the air box (where it joins the engine) and you should see 5 M6 bolt heads. These secure the box to the engine. They are tapped into the box so no nut to hold. The box is held by a lip along the bottom edge. A bit of wiggling once the 5 bolts are out should free it. There's a compression seal between the box and the engine which might offer some resistance. There's a small pipe at the rear of the box and of course the big intake hose on the front to also remove. Take care not to drop the bolts and washers into the inlets!
No reason why you can,t jump start a Cerb make sure the jump leads are man enough put the live one on the battery and the earth on a good earth point even the manifold has worked for me,
Or you can just plug a battery charger on the same way
If that fails you need to take the airbox off you just need to take off the flexible pipe then undo the nuts holding the airbox on with an allen key and pull the box off , don,t know why someone has used silicone I would not put any tape there as it does not need it you should get a good enough seal as the airboxes fit around the intake. then undo the rear valance thingy over the battery and take that off and the battery is held in palce with a clamp at the bottom just undo that then take out battery, if I was you I would get it checked it might be knackered as you have taken all bits off to get the battery out it is worth checking
Good luck
