Aircon hose connection to pump
Discussion
The low pressure hose (with the bleed screw marked L) running from the aircon pump down to the right wheelarch recess has worn through and split where it was rubbing against the rear of the F2 panel.
This alarmed me initially as I thought the hissing noise was coming from the fuel hose that runs down next to it
There was a protecting plastic ring to prevent it rubbing on the panel but this had slipped down.
It looks like it is a 13mm internal diameter hose, not sure if needs to be an oil hose spec or fuel hose? Also, any idea how to remove and refit the connection to the pump, which I am told is a suage connection (sleeve crimped around hose onto pipe.)
Can I just get another hose from Pirtek and fit it myself and get it regassed?
I've been putting it off but the heat is getting to me, especially in stationary traffic! On the plus side, windows right down at all times =

You will need air conditioning spec barrier hose I believe. The connection is swaged onto the pipe - there are places that can manufacture replacements - you need someone who does Lokring fittings or equivalent. Try Autokool near Chesterfield if you have no joy finding anyone more local to you...
you could of course jet buy a second hand one from a scrapper and as you say, fit it yourself and get it regassed....

There was me thinking that I could just order one from Racing Green or TVR Power....
Pirtek don't do aircon hoses. You're right about the different spec.
Can't find anyone local to make one up even. Next step is to try Autokool then! Failing that then I've found 2 companies that manufacture hoses, Burgaflex in Germany and Parker in US.
I've now established that the currently fitted hose is a Parker 7643 hose, 13mm Int Diam....but that model is not listed on their website and there are thousands of similar looking connectors to choose from!
I'm pretty sure the hose needs to be supplied with metal connector swaged onto end ready to bolt onto pump.
Who needs aircon anyway!

Sounds a good idea....except Pirtek weren't interested in anything aircon!
I might try them again though as that seems a simple effective solution
My local Pirtek was equally uninterested, but remember they are a franchise, so different branches may have different attitudes to aircon hoses.I might try them again though as that seems a simple effective solution
