Not running on 8 Cylinders?
Discussion
I have just replaced the coil packs, though before I saw this diagram I mounted them both with the ecu connector in the same plane, instead of offset. When I stared her up there were some mighty big bangs, have since moved them round so they are offset as in the diagram and replaced the leads, everything is in the correct order and and alignment as in the diagram but now it runs like not all 8 firing?
Wondering if when I started it the first time with one of the coil packs the wrong way round damaged it? is there a way I can test the coil packs and firing order without removing them all over again?

You won't damage a coil pack from connecting the HT leads up wrong.
The coil packs are wasted spark, it fires a pair of leads at a time.
If you are sure that you are not firing on all cylinders, pull one lead at a time till you find the dodgy lead/plug, but bear in mind that the coil pack needs both leads to make a circuit.

I have checked the leads, which are new and they are all definitely in the correct order and seated. I even re-installed the old coil packs to test if the new ones were faulty and they aren't so really starting to wonder if one of the plugs is fouled up or burnt out, failing that there could be a problem in the electrics?
Have you checked voltage from alternator, worth checking all the wires on the back are on correctly and that the exciter feed is working, also check earths.
When my alternator failed it caused miss-firing as the car started to try and run from battery power ... just an idea.
Hope you get it solved.
