Hi

I'm going to remove the cover on my master cylinder.

I'm unsure what to use to re-seal it.

Can someone recommend the correct sealant?

Kind regards!

I believe it is just silicon.. That was definitely on mine. Could be wrong though.

I used black high temperature silicon.

I never bothered re sealing mine... But the cerb lives in the garage and rarely sees the rain.

But if I was to re seal it I'd use the black high temperature stuff

Silicone will work, but on things that need to be removed from time to time I would prefer a non-drying plasticine type sealant. Currently searching too ;-)

Duck Tape

Unless you are really fussy about how it looks of course in which case you can't use that but it is brilliant for the job smile

Not that ive used it on the cerb but you can get something called roof and gutter sealant that you can get from most DIY places, this stays flexible and sticky !!

I went with the above. I guess it isn't too big a deal if it's not suitable.

Sikaflex for things you want to get apart again.

Loctite 5910 for stuff you want sealing permanently. It will come off but will be a lot harder.
