Having had problems dealing with my insurance today (we don't have any record of that type of car sir so don't know what alarm it has...) I tried to explain how rare the Red Rose is.

So I was wondering how many were built, I presume less than a hundred but that's off the top of my head.

Try Privellege - got my rr insured no prob at a price I couldn't believe. I made them read it back to me to make sure they had it right. I opted for 10 K miles / annum and a £ 1 K excess.

Got my insurance sorted at direct line, just had some niggles as they decided not to accept the letter from the factory specifying the security equipment so I found my car was uninsured against theft while I was away on holiday

Their crappy website knew my car was a Cerbera from the license plate and knew it had a factory fitted alarm, however when I "customised" the car for Red Rose I had to select the alarm/immobiliser type, and that confused them

Turns out their underwriter uses an industry guide as to what cars have what alarm and it has nothing against the RR Cerbera - just got me thinking about how rare they are.

Just say it's a standard factory modification? I had no problems with mine - through either Privilege or Sunninghill.

I plumped for the website as it was 10% cheaper, alas its a bit dumb, as are most of the staff I've spoken to at Direct Line alas.

But sorted it yesterday after providing the underwriter with the Thatcham Approval codes.
