Well, come in number 6 your time is up.
Having been on Willow Sportscars chassis waiting list since November, (6th on the list), last night I dropped the Cerbera off, like a shiny new pin, even the wife commented on the nice looking car when she picked me up, before realising it was mine.
Sat down with Nick went through my 25 point list which will probably grow and change, but I think I will end up with something pretty special.
By that, I mean not unique, not race tuned, but almost a standard sp6, but in almost as new condition, if not better than new. Paint job and new leather, a 15-20k car, in my mind, but wont be selling, well not for a good few years.
1. Strip down, blast inspect chassis, make a plan.
2. Repair chassis, Plasma coat and powder coat WHITE.
3. Clean suspension up refit, only replace if knackered, choices to be made???
4. Brakes, replace all lines, flexis and pads / shoes, repair handbrake mounting at rear, callipers may powdercoat , depending on the bill.
5. Diff, refurb new oil and paint.
6. Propshaft new uj’s
7. All new bushes everywhere, replace wishbones as necassary
8. Replace all rubber, hoses- boots-mounts, ACT blue silicone/stainless steel
9. Replace all service items, filters - belts – plugs-oil etc.
10. Check over gearbox, replace oil
11. All new nuts bolts
12. Replace all fuel lines, pressure lines, oil cooler pipes,etc
13. Inspect wheel bearings, hubs, replace if broke
14. Inspect steering rack
15. Anything refitted, to be cleaned- painted, as new
16. Cam cover off polish paint plug cover
17. Aircon compressor regas inspect, new belts
18. Thermal wrap the manifold
19. Reflective heat blankets??????
20. Set car up, bump stops etc for 18” spider wheels, to be supplied
21. Exhaust remains same new brackets, clamps. Manifold gaskets,
22. New windscreen wiper arms onto new wheel boxes to be supplied once removed.
23. Windscreen washer tubing renew, washer bottle fill pipe sort out its crap.
24. 12k full service, geometry set up
25. Stamp service book, details etc
Things that don’t work:
Alarm is disconnected
Ice detector
Windscreen wipers poor
Boot light switch disconnected
Radio, Amps removed for access
He started this morning and so far not been in touch which is better than I had hoped, as he said he would start by just running the engine and doing some performance/leak checks.
We had already looked underneath some months ago to get a feel for the state of the chassis and it was'nt good, popping in on the way home tonight get some pictures as I forgot last night, will update regularly, to follow progress, fingers crossed.

You will not be disappointed!
List looks pretty comprehensive. Additional things I had done were:
1. Brake Calipers sent back to AP for refurb and painted.
2. New ACT exhaust. I couldn't bring myself to put the rusty old one back on such a shiny chassis!
3. New radiator. (go for Radtec if you can/otherwise get yours re-cored.
4. Maybe think about new shocks/srings? (Nitron is the way to go)
5. Also I am sure Nick will advise on other items such as disks etc. You are already paying for labour, so it makes sense to replace items like these if they are on the way out.
6. Sell kidney to afford the above!

Kidney already gone! to cover the list, Nick said Nitrons were the best, nothing else compared and if my Protechs are shot then I won't hesitate, I'm already leaning towards the brakes, and as for the exhaust, I dont know, my back box isn't standard, so I dont like it, naturally, and there's a bit of country road near me that if I don't slow to 20/30mph the damn thing hits the ground like a sledgehammer, hate it.
But I really don't know, cats or no cats, back box, racing tails, I need to hear different sp6 's on different systems, what I want has to be efficient, dissipate heat well and legally scream like a banshee when sprinting, and purr menacingly when not, if anyone knows of such a system let me know, the wife has a spare kidney!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now, I thought about bolting mine directly to the chassis like that but was worried about the stress under engine movement.
No probs for you ??

Are you sure the pictures shows it mounted solid to the chassis? I would have thought it is still mounted on hangers otherwise vibration would be a problem. Fantastic job makes me want to do a body off.Alistair H. said:
