Hi guys I brought a cerbera speed six earlier this year, it has that flip paint and really needs the two sides painting, I have asked locally about the paint and people reckon its been painted in some stuff made by house of color, people are quoting me £400 a litre is this right? if so im thinking shall I fully repaint and have a colour change? or is this a bad move, or does anyone know where to get cheaper flip paint? any advise welcomed, brought the car with electrical damage off TVR Glen, Who Repaired It for me and got it Runing, I must say they have been great and everytime ive phoned up for some help, Glen has actually posted out parts free of charge which are nothing to do with the repair, just because I brought the car from him, so a big big thankyou to Glen and the Lads.
I would like to keep it in the flip paint but 3 grand just for paint materials is just plain stupid, thanks in advance for any suggestions or help regards Jon.

Well done on a decent service from tvr glen.
If you post in the general tvr section you will get a better response re the paint.

Hi Gazz, yes it is mate, I used to be a mechanic stroke mot tester by trade for 18 years up until 2007, I brought it as ive allways wanted one, it looked a lot worse than it was, and looked so much better when it arrived after Glen had repaired the car and replaced all the damaged interior parts and fitted a new wireing loom, the chassis after a bit of sand blasting has cleaned up lovely, and im driving it now, just needs paint but it pulls like a train, and im very happy with it.

That looks very much like Fantasy Labelle paint by Glasutit. If it is then I'm afraid you will have the greatest of difficulty locating any. Glasurit does not make it any more. I do hope I am wrong for your sake. Specialist paints of Sheffield
http://specialistpaints.com/contact.php do a broad range of paints and many that match TVR colours. Ask for SAJ.
Good luck J.

wow Found this by mistake,my car is originally Desert Moondust http://www.carpictures.com/vehicle/00D28481215220/...
this is my car when it was new, as it has T9 Tvr on the plates which used to be on my car, its not that far off the original colour but have been told its very close but a copy.

Surely a paint specialist can paint match anything, with a spectrometer, job done.

Try talking to S&D in Blackpool. They're ex TVR and have build records for many cars.

The problem with TVR paint is that even if you have identified the colour it may have had a different formulation applied so always worth checking properly if possible.

Hmm, looks like the same colour as my car (or virtually the same from the pictures). The paint can be relatively easy to obtain. If you still need a source, let me know and I'll put you on to the person who got the paint for me.

If you can post a better picture of the side and front view, I can tell better.
