Hi All

Anyone got one ?

Or indeed is it part of the engine manual available on here somewhere ???

Reason I ask is last time out with the 4.2 in the racer at Llandow, had several low pressure warnings.

Have undone the big nut and removed it plus spring behind, but other than that, stuck as what is there does not want to come out !!!

I would start by fitting a brand new spring, Mine was going a little low on the pressure side as well. Compared the old to new and it was a good 5mm shorter than the brand new spring.

New spring and my pressure has been strong for the last few years.

I once saw a TVR memo to the dealerships.... Saying if customers of early 4.2 cars complain of poor oil pressure while on track days. They should remove the 1/2 internal bore oil pipes and replace them with 5/8s as fitted as standard to the 4.5 s.

I've recently done this upgrade on mine.. I also put a bigger oil cooler in and changed the union connector on the bottom of the oil pump... It made a very noticeable difference in oil pressure at high revs.

Hi,

Where is the relief valve located? I think my oil pressure is a little low compared to the values some people get so should probably try changing the spring.

Not long had my cerbera so still trying to find my way round it. So far I've only managed to find the accelerator peddle and the fuel filler cap. smile

Matt what engine do you have?

What are your pressures hot and cold and under load.

Should help.

Thanks smile Ive wanted one for years and finally took the plunge a couple of months ago.

It's the 4.2.

Cold it jumps up to just over 40 at idle. Doesn't move when it's under load. Once warmed up it still about 40 under load but drops into the 20s at idle. I guess the gauge could be at faulty as it doesn't seem to operate smoothly. It sort of jumps up and down as if the dial is sticking. I thought I'd try changing the spring to see if it would go any higher as its only a few quid.

Does seem low and you should have variance between load and idle when hot.

New spring could be your answer.
