Buggar, clutch has gone, pedal to the floor, master is dry, maybe some fluid underneath. Suspect the slave is pooped.

History is as follows:
Master at 20k
Slave at 24k
Slave seals at 42k

Mileage now 52k

I think both master and slave should be replaced, where do i source, is the RP one as good as everyone says?

How long am I looking at to change both?

Set of slave seals - £20 (or there abouts)

RP Slave - £330 ish

I fitted new seals the first time, but it's such a pain removing the gearbox (and manifolds) that I took the plunge and fitted an RP slave the second time.

It seems extravagant, but anything to avoid the hassle of pulling the gb, which for me means I have to bribe a friend to help, because I really cannot do it by myself.

Hi
Vee8ight,

sorry for that ... mine was gone, toofurious (last week)

My Master in my Tamora was really ok, so I put in a new Clutch and The RP Slave from Clever Trevor (290£)
You'll known it ... check the Master Cyli., put them out and inspect it well, new seal etc.
and than try bleed the cylies and lines.
Hopefully your Slave is ok!!!!
and everything will be ok.
on the other hand, if you change all, it will be always better at least.
I read the RP Slave should be better , because of his design ...
but if must change the slave too, clean it pretty ,pretty well ...the hole in the Bellhouse and take a lot silicone oil or grease to prevent damages ...

Good luck
TTC

It took me 2 days to change the slave cylinder and master cylinder on my Cerb. I used the guide as above, which was pretty useful.

The master cylinder was really fiddly. The slave cylinder was straight forward although obviously there were more clanky parts to remove - but all of it simple.

I bought the Raceproved slave and fitted with lashings of Red Rubber Grease. The slave cylinder seals had been replaced by the previous owner's mechanic 1000 miles earlier using the wrong grease which had dissolved the seals and the master cylinder seals have just dissolved themselves.

I've only done around 3000 miles on the car since fitting the RP slave in February but so far, so good.

An update. The reservoir was nearly empty and what was in there was black sludge. Cleaned it out, and bled the clutch, seems better but still leaking. Least I can move it now till the new bits arrive

HiYa wavey

Master Seal Kit for £11 and you'll be done thumbup

Replaced Master Cylinder for £72 and the Slave Seals the first time (after 40K) but I think I incorrectly adjusted the Clutch Master Cyl pushrod and after 12K I broke some fingers.

Chenged the Master Cyl seals as above and fitted the RP slave on second attempt.

Everything's still together after 20K
