Guys, This is so wrong I know! but here goes. Anyone seen or heard of a sun roof being installed to a Cerb? Guess the comments will be "why not just buy a Chim" "Sell the Cerb" - "you will lose torsional rigidity" "you really don't deserve to own one" "you will look a complete prat"!

Just thought I would ask,as my wife suggested "would be kind of nice" smile

Please go easy on me wink

Has someone not converted one to a targa as well?

Brendan at Concept Performance did this conversion, if I remember correctly it was a blue W reg.

I'm sure the owner is on here.

I don't get the sunroof thing at all. Any cars I have had with a sunroof have luckily had a sliding panel to cover them inside.

I don't know why anyone thought it was a good idea to put a piece of glass above your head so you can enjoy the feeling of the sun cooking your brain on a hot day. If you open the sunroof you also have to open a window to stop buffeting which to me doesn't feel much different to just having the windows open. I just don't get sunroofs.

But - each to their own, I guess.

I also don't get cross dressing but that doesn't mean there isn't men out there that want to mince about in high heels and a mini-skirt whilst calling themselves Tallulah.

Interesting replies and much appreciated - thank you. Just as an off subject question, any good sites that specialise in cross dressing? A friend asked me to enquire wink

I am with you on the sunroof thing, stopped specifying them on cars ages ago now because of all the reasons you mention I hardly ever opened them.

The cross dressing thing would be Rex on here, but I don't get it at all.

Yep, thats mine. I bought the car for being a decent exmaple rather than the sunroof, and TBH I have never actually used it. To take it off you have to undo four clips, lift it out and store it somewhere.

And the other one is mine, it has an electic tilting sliding roof, lots of pictures here http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=107...

Personally i think the sunroof is great, it doesn't buffet, doesn't leak, sint noisy open or closed and it has an internal screen if it really is that sunny but its not needed as the finish is sufficiently dark anyway. I pretty much always have it open and it means i hardly have to use the aircon, in fact the only time the aircon gets used is when i am waiting closed up before the start of a sprint.

I don't happen to think it spoils the car but then i have always had a cerb with a sunroof so i dont know any different and i chopped the whole roof off the last car I owned so i have a history of this.

I think yours is a factory fitted sun roof and very nicely made.
We also thought about a sunroof for our Cerb, especially when seeing yours.
As I need sunroofs on all my cars, if not open toped anyway.
And I am positively no cross dresser.
Sun- and panoramaroofs are not buffing on some quality cars as far as I have experienced.
Eventually we decided against a sunroof for the Cerb,
as we think it is spoiling her phantastic roofline a bit.

No it's not, see what Bob (Pursyluv) said above!

Race proved did that iirc, I will be going down the targa panel route at some point, however my seals will be in the panel side to make it look a little smoother when out, my cerb is a keeper so not fussed about resale.
