Has anyone attempted to drop a 1000bhp twin turbo v8 into a cerbera and have the body widened etc to resemble a cerbera speed 12?

Thanks
H

Yes there have been a few projects:-
1) Get the original Speed 12 up n running - its up n running
2) Build a 2nd Speed 12. Part built using a 12 cyl engine from another manufacturer but using original body parts and chassis etc
3) Build out the AJP using extra capacity, massive turbo and reworked shell. Part finished but supplier and project issues meant it didnt finish. The Phoenix.
4) Replace the engine with a Mitsibushi 3000 GT engine massively tweaked. Believe this went a similiar way to the above.
5) Z Cars project to replace the engine and drive train with Nissan skyline stuff. Not sure what happened - think it got too expensive and may not be finished.
6) Massively tuned LS cars - there are a couple that run 500 and 600 ish bhp each. Up n running and running well.
7) AMG project - understand a massive AMG V8 project is on-going.
8) Turbo charge an AJP. There is one on here and is 500+? There is another under development that I assume will be similiar power.
9) Super charge an AJP - there is one (in Holland?), not sure of status.

Nice one Gazzab!

Did the rebuilt speed 12s reach 1000bhp?
Not street legal though...right?

wrong, both the speed 12s are road legal.
If you wait a while the owner of both cars may see the thread and fill you in with more details

Z Cars project was finished and delivered to it's owner (in Sweden or Switzerland I think) for sprint racing.

From a chassis perspective can a cerbera handle the extra power? Was the cerbera speed 12 chassis based on the v8 cerbera or is it completely different under the skin. Eg is the wheelbase even the same?
Thx

Are you sure that's a Speed 12. From the back It dosent look like the speed 12 I have seen. The speed 12 has a back similar to the Cerb but wider. That picture looks like someones race car.

To be honest I don't think any part of the car, chassis included would come close to handling anything near 1000bhp for comfortable safe road use.

As having some experience in running one with only 600bhp...

You would need straight away,
New Driveshafts, diff plates/mounts, diff, prop, CV's, engine mounts.

1000bhp is alot of power, once you have the drivestrain strong enough, dump the clutch and see what happens....all 4 wheels may never be able to touch the tarmac at the same time ever again! hehe

That is indeed the Speed 12. That was the first car based on a bespoke spaceframe chassis using the Speed 12 engine. There is only one that actually raced and that's it.(Picture below as well) There is a showcar but that never had proper running gear.

The car you're thinking of is W112 BHG the red Speed 12 Cerbera. Again a totally different car that came later with a passing resemblance to a Cerbera for marketing and maybe homologation purposes. Again totally bespoke with a folded and glued aluminium tub, it only shares the windscreen and the roof profile with the road-going Cerbera and is much much wider. As mention there is now a second car using a 'very' modified AM V12.

As I mentioned above the Cerbera chassis wasn't used for the Speed 12 Cerbera. Here's a picture of a bare tub.

Here she is at CREAM 2005.

Rolled off the delivery ramp, pushed into the assigned display area and later pushed back up the delivery ramp.
Gorgeous and Impotent at the same time. frown

ETA

Ooops, didn’t mean ‘Impotent’ as here she is queueing for an MOT laugh

and some other(s) shot(s) possibly wearing different make-up….
