It's a sad day indeed.
After two and a half years of ownership I've parted ways with my speed six.
Thanks to my old man taking me to the motor show in birmingham all those years ago when i first saw a Cerb i promised myself that one day i would have one. So as I grew older the TVR itch started and refused to go away.
After years of looking and asking questions like can I justify it, is it reliable, can I afford it, it transpired that after working overseas I could, so I took the plunge and bought myself a nice 99 speed six with a sorted chassis, replaced outriggers and an engine rebuild.
Despite the jokes from friends and family about the cars reliability, and the likelyhood that it would spend more time in the garage than it would on the road, all I can say is it wasn't so.
For the most part of my ownership the car ran faultlessly, yes I had problems but show me a car that doesn't have issues, yes it was expensive to run but then I drove it as often as the weather allowed, you don't buy a TVR to park it in the drive or garage and just look It, you buy a TVR to drive it, to experience the raw driving pleasure of that straight six or V8 howling away as you show the car another set of bends. I'd say its no more expensive to run on an annual basis as a Porsche or Aston.
Am I sad to see it go, your damm right I am, I've no doubt I'll be like a bear with a sore head for a few weeks, and I've already asked myself did I do the right thing. One thing is for sure I'll be on speaking terms with my neighbours for the first time in a long time, no longer will they be woken by the TVR dawn chorus, in deed my wife tells me we've been invited to dinner with one set of neighbours already!
So TVR1C is now in its new home in Birmingham with one very happy new owner Jason who I'm sure will be on here soon enough to introduce himself, I hope he gets as much enjoyment from it as I did.
So the next question is what do I get next because one thing is for sure I can't think of a car that could replace the Cerb!

Really sorry it's gone, I sold mine in August 2012 after 6 years with it & I have had a Z4M since & currently got a V8 E92 M3 with a manual gearbox & I genuinely believe a Cerb can't be replaced or a TVR for that matter, I miss my Cerb like crazy as pretty much nothing else comes close.TVR's are individual & unique & sound amazing, I loved the rawness of mine & everything else I own after it will always just be boring, I hope you find something else to put a smile on your face.

In fairness to the wife, she was more upset than I was. When the car pulled off the drive and disappeared around the corner she came out of the house crying!
Given that then if you act quickly enough:http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/t...
Surprise her with a new Cerbera on the drive and the line:
"I saw how upset you were over selling the Cerbera and I couldn't bear to see you that upset..."

Totally opposite to mine she was shouting to the roof tops when mine went but mine was a money pit though, with your mrs being that understanding I would get another quick! TimJM said:
