Hi guys. Anyone experienced this? I'm aware of the pressure dropping when turning if the oil level is low, but the level looks fine, but the oil pressure drops on the gauge under severe braking, I've never seen this before, as I compete in the sprint championship, it's a bit worrying! It started after I had the dash apart, so I am kind of blaming the gauge, but I can't seem to find a kink in the pipe leading to the gauge. I may be clutching at straws here!

Are you breaking with your left foot?

100% oil level is not at max. It happens to me on trackdays, just means it's burnt some oil and needs topping up. The dipstick can tell lies, so you have to be careful with it!
Normal driving I can get the oil level down to 1/4 on the level before this occurs, but on track if it goes below 3/4, the gauge will start dropping

Be careful not to overfill it!
If oil gets sucked up through the breather hose into the o/s throttle bodies it wouldn't be good.

^ what he said wink

The dipstick does lie, I used 1/2L yesterday over 120 miles of hard trackday, but I always top up a bit at a time while on track, then leave it overnight with the dipstick out to get an accurate measurement.

Sorry for the slow response, thanks for the comments/suggestions guys, the comment 'the dipstick tells lies' was spot on. On saturday morning I drove to Snetterton, I left the car for around four hours, then dipped the oil, it showed the level had dropped a quarter of an inch below full, so I topped up with oil. I re- checked the oil when arriving home, low again, so....yes, topped up again! After leaving it over night, the dipstick level showed the engine to be over filled by about an inch. jester Bloody nightmare! In my defense the car does leak oil, so I am a little paranoid about checking the level. I've repaired the leaking oil/air breather below the offside airbox any times, it's leaking badly again so I've ordered a replacement aluminium one from Clevor Trevor. So maybe now I can be more relaxed and revert to checking the oil when cold only before I set out for the day.The upside of all this leaking oil is, the chassis rails by the exhaust manifolds run are immaculate, I was pleasantly surprised by there condition when I had the engine out last winter.
