Whirlwind Short Induction Kit from Joolz

Got the car back from Joolz today, just had a Whirlwind Short Induction Kit fitted and a full remap on the rolling road.
Having spent 3 hours in the Peak District this afternoon I can only say that it has made a fantastic improvement to the car.
Joolz had some fun with it though, and I have a few niggles to sort out like the the backplates are falling apart, but very happy with the results.
The headline figures only tell part of the story:-
Before = 355 BHP - pretty normal for a standard 4.5, running quite rich and retarded. The power curve was pretty erratic and peak power was a short blip up at 6,600 rpm, the top end was actually more like 340 most of the time. The torque curve looked a bit like the Himalayas
After = 392 BHP - I was hoping for the magic 400 but not to worry as the real difference is how smooth and progressive the power and torque curves are. Like everybody said in the previous post, its how the power is delivered that makes the difference, really smooth and stable.
Out on the road the most noticeable thing is just how free and easy it wants to rev now, and it is just smooth strong power straight all the way to 7,500. Fantastic delivery, more top end power, and the trademark pops and bangs on the overrun seem even louder.
I've got to say it has bought the biggest smile to my face since buying my first LSD (for the rally car!) 25 years ago :-)

Joolz thought my exhaust might be holding mine back a bit. My mid section looks fairly standard with mild steel centre pipes, and then someone has added sports tail pipes. However one of these was dinged and pointing sideways when I got the car so I've had to straighten it a bit with a 2 pounder and a vice!
I want to do some track days so am pondering a new exhaust, but want that balance of noise and character versus being able to pass the 105db to get it on the track.
Was talking to ACT about their systems. They have the new back box system which seems likely to get below the noise limit and flows well, but possibly loses a bit of the character. Alternatively you can go for the straight through big bore, but will probably need to add trackday cans. Any thoughts?
I guess I need to recharge the budget first though!

It's amazing that even with the big back box and cats it's still making 103db, but the power gains are impressive.
I was going to go over to Oulton Park today for a noise check but noticed one of the A/C compressor bracket bolts hanging out and the other one missing when I was checking the oil. Looks like they have been replaced at some stage as the one that hasn't disappeared was a stainless one, and looks a bit to short to thread into the crankcase properly. Hey ho, another job on the list, at least M8 bolts are not that expensive

I don't have the system with the big back box. I don't think Supateg does either. I have the "Big Bore" system.

Mine has removable tail sections so I can quieten it down without bits hanging out of the back. I can take maybe 5/6db off down to 97db with the spare tails.
The "big box" system is even more pricey. I don't have 1st hand knowledge of that.

I have the big bore system you are talking about and even with the track cans on the back I struggle to pass noise testing on trackdays so am looking at the quiet back box.ACT's quiet big back box system can be found at:

If you want to do trackdays I am afraid quiet is the new noisey if that makes sense?

Decatted it's 106db at 4500 revs, with the cats in or with the trackday cans on it's 98db. Better road clearance and lighter than the big rear box original system.

along with the ACT standard manifolds and straight decats. My previous system was factory front to back, the manifolds were cracked and already welded 2 years ago and the rear box was rusting away.
The ACT system has made a huge difference to the car, its much smoother and responsive (presumably the cats) and makes a really lovely raspy sound when pushing on but quieter at others times, not too quiet, just nice.
Down side is the pops and bangs are very very muffled now, they have increased a little as the exhaust carbon's up but on the whole I do miss them. I still get the occasional loud pop, mostly on hard braking.
Otherwise its got a little less ground clearance at the back but its a very nice quality bit of kit and Tim is super helpful.

Personally I would still like to have the popping and banging on the overrun, and the noise on the road. So I'm thinking I'll go for the ACT big bore system (SJ10C), as you can always fit the track day cans if you need to for a track day. The only worry then is what restriction the trackday cans put on flow. I was saw a post from Firewallguy a couple of weeks ago where he said the car struggled over 6,000 rpm with the trackday cans on. Has anybody had similar experience?
The interesting thing is that that the big back box system from ACT - SJ10SBB seems to flow well and gives good power on Supateg's 4.5, which would be useful for the track day.
Would be nice to have both and swap over?
