Fog light switch removal
Discussion
Hi
As some will have noticed from my previous posts I am not a mechanic by either nature or training. It does not come naturally to me. Cerbera ownership has therefore been a different experience than some who can perhaps do more themselves. Thankfully I hope to continue to be good enough at my day job to be able to afford to enjoy the help of those who have the skills I do not.
Despite this the odd niggles, this really does not justify the Cerb being in the specialist garage. Partly because I don't want to do without my daily work transport and I don't find it necessary for some more generic problems. So enough drivel.
My rear fog light doesn't work. I have tried changing the fuse in the boot (and the other items which are on the same circuit work but I know TVR electrics may be special). Bulb has been changed too, but the special green surround doesn't light up either. I (and my advisor) think it may be the switch, I have found somewhere that will repair it, all I need do is remove the damn thing.
I have just been fiddling and removed a rather thin printer type cable from the back of the switch - as the only cable this must be the positive and negative. Having removed this I can turn round what is left, but I cannot seem to unscrew the front of dash section from the back section. The back part feels like it has a plastic (goal post style) preventer to stop it being undone - is this normal? my attempts to squeeze and persuade it to undo have not worked yet. I may try a few beers and more aggression but without the confidence that is how it works I fear creating a bigger bill for myself.
Help and guidance appreciated.

ps. 12,000 miles on an FFF2, my neighbours think I am nuts especially at 5am, but I am smiling! Queries welcome
