Tyres...again - anyone tried Kumho?
Discussion
I am having my spiders refurb'ed so I may as well put on a new set of tyres (my tyres are legal just but will need replacing soon).
I've always just put on Toyo Proxies in the past and they are a half decent tyre but I've found they can be slippery in the wet. Looking around I saw Kumho now offer their Ecsta Le Sport KU39 tyres and many people are giving them good reviews. One thing they point out on these tyres is they have very good wet performance. As I plan on driving the Cerbera through the winter good wet performance sounds like a good idea.
Has anyone tried these and how would they rate them compared to the Toyo Proxies especially in the wet. They are priced well so I was thinking of trying out a set.
Or - does anyone have any recommendations on a grippy wet weather tyre for a Cerbera?

I've tried Nokian Z G2's - seem to be reasonable price and get good ratings in the wet

A Finnish make, mostly do winter / snow tyres.....

My recommendation would be Goodyear Eagle F1s. Excellent tyres wet and dry. You get what you pay for. Kumhos are ok but nothing impressive. Toyo Proxes road tyres are very mediocre things in my experience - I really don't rate them at all and if I was given a free set I wouldn't use them. I'm a tyre snob, but then in a <1200kg car with 360+bhp which you intend to drive year round - who wouldn't be?
I put as set of Kumho's on the diesel daily driver about 6 weeks ago and all was going fine while the weather was good and the roads were dry but this week it's been fairly showery here and I'm finding the grip on a damp road to be absolutely useless.
The traction control light is coming on very very often.
They're actually fine in heavy rain and when they're is standing water but when it's dry overhead and the road is damp they're awful.
I'm seriously thinking of actually taking them off and replacing them with something else altogether.
Anyway that's my experience of them and I don't think I'd put them on a Cerb ... I reckon I could be in a ditch before too long if I did
