My steering rack has gone through nearly half a pot of fluid in a few months so clearly it needs a bit of a rebuild.

Looking through previous threads on this topic it seems these are my options:

Kiley Clinton - http://www.steering-racks.co.uk
Can refurbish my existing steering rack and seem to be the only people worth talking to about doing this. They gave me a quote today of £245 + VAT. If I needed new pipes then that would be another £40 + VAT and a new housing would be £45 + VAT. They also do a mod to add in another o-ring to improve on the original design. Seemed to be very knowledgeable. Only downside is that there is a 2 day turn-around meaning my car would have to be off the road/at a garage for a week.

Tuscan steering rack
A number of people have stated they've fitted a Tuscan steering rack. Does anyone know whether this is an improved design on the Cerbera rack, or does it suffer from the same seal problems? Second hand prices seem to be £300+.

Alternative rack
It seems there have been a lot of false starts with people looking for racks from alternative cars? However I'm sure I remember someone stating that they'd fitted a steering rack from a Skyline or something similar recently?

Are those really the only options?

Does anyone have a old, leaky rack they don't want?

I'd add Western Power Steering to that list too.

I've used them for a number of refurbs in the pas,t on other cars and they've been fine. I've had my Cerbera rack reworked as part of my rebuild, I'm yet to try it out but will (hopefully) be able to report back shortly. However, IIRC Paul had some issues when he sent his rack for refurb there.

Tuscans up to March 2001 used the same rack as the Cerbera. After that the housing is the same but the rack bar was widened and the track rods reduced to 306mm.
