If it was anything except a Cerbera I'd have driven it off a cliff ages ago...

Which relay is that Aide? Assume it failed at a bad time...

I fitted a hot start relay last year when the starter went. I didn't actually need it tbh.

Went for dinner on Saturday, parked up and checked into our room.

Next morning, pressed the start button, nothing happens, then a plume of smoke wafts up from under the bonnet... burnt out relay ( that shouldn't have been there in the first place rolleyes )

"What kept you so long?"
"Oh, just checking the oil and water" whistle

Ate there a couple of weeks ago, love that place.

Anyway just up the road from there, did you get going OK or do you need a hand reteaving the car?

It was a lovely dinner, first time there, really relaxing atmosphere..

Thanks for the offer of help.. I managed to get going after 20mins by bypassing the relay so not too much drama in the end..

I'll replace the relay this week, but move it to the passenger footwell instead of just having it cable tied to the hoses near the starter - it's just too hot in there for a relay (even when wrapped in heat shield!)

Good Grief, Man. I thought you'd learnt with your Lambda Sensors,
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it !"
