My brake lights had been intermittently flashing i was told by other drivers recently. Well now they don't work at all. I have checked the bulbs, and both look fine. I read somewhere that the fuse for the brake lights also worked the indicators, and they work ok. The brake switch does work, as the light comes on in the dash when the hand brake is applied, I understand the two are connected.

Is there anywhere else i can check? i thought perhaps the lights switching unit in the boot was probably to fault?

my Cerb is a 2001 4.5.

cheers for input

Hey Steve
You should check the actuator attached to the top of the pedal
Probably needs adjusting

It is a ford switch I think and prone to failure, mine did exactly this and needed replacing.

Be careful as they are pretty fragile.

Also, take care to set the switch up correctly so that the lights come on with the right amount of pedal travel. Too little and you'll be flashing them all the time in traffic. Too much and you'll end up with someone in your boot!
