A.C.T. quiet exhaust report.

As previously posted some months ago I purchased A.C.T's latest exhaust for the my Cerbera. I had the first one off the production line so both parties wanted to know how it was going to perform.
So here's my findings and opinions after about 3 months of use.
The exhaust is much more civilised and quiet in everyday use. The car is far more pleasant and sociable to drive and my neighbours now talk to me.
It was sound tested today at a track day and measured 98.7db @4000RPM so easily got through sound testing without any additional silencers. The car also has de-cat pipes fitted. What is unusual is that at tick over it has a loud deep sound but this never really increases with the revs, the noise seems to flatten out at round 2000rpm.
Although it runs much quieter the power has not been effected and the engine was dynoed at 530bhp with the new exhaust fitted.
I also think it looks much better than the traditional sports pipes, as the new ACT ones uses the large traverse back box which makes the car look more aggressive and improves the stance when viewed from behind. It also has 3inch tailpipes.
The system has various mounting points and plenty of adjustment so that you can get it to fit properly as no 2 Cerbs are the same. The quality is good and it is backed up with a lifetime warranty.
One very small gripes, the exhaust tailpipes should be swept up slightly higher so that the tailpipes fit closer to the bodywork, this may have already been sorted on the next batch.
It is quiet expensive but I am very glad I had it fitted. Hope this helps if you are in the market for a new exhaust.

I agree about the upswept angle, however the tails on mine are removable.
Very pleased all the same. Over the time I plan to keep the car, the cost diminishes!

5500rpm seems a very high engine test speed what track was that on? most of the track days I go on is 4000rpm. some are 75% of the speed up to the red line. I put a red mark line on the tacho at 6500 so they are usually happy with 4500rpm.a1rak said:
