Any ideas where you can source a replacement for a sensible amount of money? Struggling to source one at the moment.

Thanks

The cheapest I've seen is £200 on eBay. But check to make sure it's the higher power one.

Nothing sensible available on the aftermarket from the likes of Powerlite or similar?

Not sure if this one is the correct one but certainly cheap so likely reconditioned but will have 12 months warranty.

Check it is the correct one though! This one is 1.4KW (click on the drawing at the side of the listing for details)

Whilst it is it's only the 1.4kw one the cerbs is 2.5kw.

Is the starter completely fooked as you can by new solenoid and gear etc.

I remember seeing the rebuild kit online but can't find it now. My motor is good but I have a sticky solenoid and want to sort it while the car is apart this winter.

Any links or pointers?

Olly

I bought one off ebay the reconditioned one and it has performed without fault, and they are very helpful people, give them a call and they knock a few quid off.

Thanks. No idea what is wrong with it at this point, haven't had it in hand to check - the guys at a local garage spotted the issue.

I would also appreciate any pointers to a rebuild kit.

Before you could get a new soliniod and gear for about £50 but this seems to have changed.

I got one from them about two moths ago it was quick delivery only issue was the spring the looped end which goes into the starter housing was a lot shorter than the old one and didn't look as though it would stay located so i just re-used the old one which looked fine and it has worked a treat ever since.
I just tested it on a spare battery before i refitted it to the car and it was spot on.
