Hello
Being a new owner over the last week has broken me in!
Just discovered this forum and it's great with good characters and a sense of humour.
So who the hell am I, well after owning and importing many japs vehicles over the years TVRs have certainly grown on me, so I just had to get one.
Mines an early 4.2 all I could afford I'm afraid but not a bad deal at 15k.
Couple of problems already thou, after about the first 10 miles the heater stopped and yes I have read many of the posts similar.
To start the previuos owner has put a 25amp fuse in when it should be 10amps.
I did speak with TVR who said that me heater control is blown and right they were. Obtained a second hand one and fitted it. However still didnt work so decided to replace the dash switch, again a secondhand one. Ok I now have illumination and can here the fan running in the passenger footwell but no heat. I presuming that the heating pipes are blocked or I have a sticky flap, any ideas???
Should also point out that I did get a good service from Bellhill Garage in Bath for the secondhand parts, so if ya after something give Tom a call.
Anyway on fitting the heater contol in the passenger footwell I noticed that the ECU has paint writing on it saying 270 chip fitted with a date, anyone know what this means, I think I know but would like to check that this I presume is after market chip and is not normal?? If anyone has any idea what a 270 chip gives please respond.
I have read many of the post with amusement and it's strange to say that I also test drove 4.5 cerbera's and didn't think they are as fast as the 4.2??? bloody strange considering the TVR performance fiqures.
I look forward to getting screwed by the cerbera and probably will be skint for the rest of my life now.
If the wife finds out, how much it costs to run a cerbera I am in trouble.
Happy days
Dean

Welcome to the fold.....dont forget a picture on your profile is a must...especially if the car is of the 'blue' variety...
Heaters...fans on heaters...either hot or cold seem not to be one of TVR's better things...can be too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. Mine blows hot air only via the 2 vents in the footwells set in the gearbox tunnel...these are flaps that you need to push to open or close. Dash vents...one on passenger side and one facing driver below steering wheel, along with the row in front of the windscreen blow only cold...well on mine they do!...Demisting a Cerbera screen is quicker with a chamoise (sp)....unless you want to have the car running for 30 mins before pulling off!
Hope you enjoy your Cerbie ownership as much as I have for the past year.
