I was doing 17mph recently and was wondering (aesthetics aside) if a little boot spoiler would make much difference to the stability of the car at such a speed?

I think the Cerb would easily benefit from some aero at speed, after all, look at the racing motors - they all have it.

I agree with FYP though, that the puny little piece of AMG gayness would acheive the square root of fk all!

Aesthetics aside I disagree. A small spoiler, no matter how out of place it looks, would make a huge difference over a certain speed.

For me, at those speeds and beyond it was more about keeping (what felt like) the front on the ground rather than the rear.

A rear spoiler on a Cerbera will ruin the flowing lines of the car, I have seen a few with a spoiler but they look hellish it aint worth ruining the car with a spoiler for the odd time you are at these speeds.

If you use it as a track car fine, most sports cars nowadays seem to have a rear spoiler that retracts back into the body that the only way It would work on a CERB.

Have a word with brendan at concept performance about a retractable spoiler system .. he already has the idea in his head for something.

Thanks Joolz, the retractable version would be a good upgrade, could also keep my old boot lid..

I didn't have an issue at high speed on the runways. Does it need it?

Do you have a chin spoiler?

I guess it depends, runways are generally pretty smooth?

I've done those speeds in my Cerbera ..... Speedo not sat nav so possibly 150 +
The car seemed planted, but was difficult to stop in an emergency, and an emergency it was! :-)

Would you really consider ruining the lines of a Cerbera for the rare occasions those speeds can be achieved?
Yours is a great looking car .....

You're right Darren, it would mess it up completely.

But I still think it would be interesting to have either a spare boot lid with a small spoiler that you could swap onto the car for comparison or even a retractable one that was discrete enough so as not to ruin the line.

If you don't clip the bootlid down it lifts open at around 70mph, so at warp speed must create a fair bit of lift, a discreet boot lip spoiler could be of some benefit I guess?

I managed a 170 run at Le Mans at the 2010 classic. Car was so planted I had time to point out the Chinese that we had had dinner at the night before.

The thing that caused some consternation was that I was turned round pointing out the rear window at the time, I felt no issue with the cars behaviour, my passenger on the other hand was having kittens and flapping his arms like a swan on a take off run.

We have since checked the speedo for accuracy at this sort of speed and curiously it is very accurate, never more than 4 MPH out so it was a genuine 170 ish test.

Cerb is a stable beast at 170+, well mine is!
