What is the cost of getting a chassis repaired then coated?

I don't mean removing the body or anything, I mean sending a bare chassis away to get corrosion repaired, new parts welded in/replaced then a good quality coating?

I know a random question but I'm having an idea.

If they don't remove the body how will they weld the tubes all the way around properly ? Or do you mean a partial lift ?

That's a how long is a piece of string question.

That said that's what they did to the Wheeler dealer's Cerbera so it may well be worth you watching that.

I think this is the whole episode. http://www.carvideos.eu/wheeler-dealers-2013-episo...

RT Racing did the work I think.

Did they not buy a replacement chassis on the wheeler dealer Cerb then have that coated?

To clear up confusion, I mean removing the body myself so a rough cost would be just for the repair of the chassis then coating.

Yes they did. Patching though is down to what needs repairing so I was thinking you'd be advised to ask RT racing about patching it up and getting it powder coated where they did which for the world of TV was £290 with a zinc undercoat.

I paid around £200 for two coats of hot zinc primer, and a top coat.

On mine a sandblast, zinc & 2x powder coats for the chassis, wishbones, etc... was circa £420.

Like pointed out above, Richard Thorpe at RT Racing did the work on the Wheeler Dealers Chassis.
Richard provided another chassis which he already had done the work on (I believe) and then they took it to a place for powder coating that Richard uses. The last time I saw Richard he still had the original Wheeler Dealers chassis.
RT Racing do lots of work on all kinds of TVR chassis and are brilliant at it too, their jigs are the dogs dodars as is the quality of work done on the chassis.
