Not driven my car for months, simply had no reason to, been away, nothing booked, no track days, no meets, no clement weather. So at the weekend I put the battery on the charger hoping for a Sunday morning hoon, but it hadn't recovered enough to start. However tonight it fired up, and the roads were nearly dry, the rush hour traffic had subsided - time to remind myself why I own a Cerb.

Whoops - massive fishtail when accelerating away from a traffic light controlled dual carriage-way 180 turn. I must have looked like a complete idiot, fortunately I was able to leave the scene quicker than any of the witnesses...

I'm sure no one else has ever done anything so daft.

Maybe it was your cerb telling you to drive it more often (particularly given we had one of the best summers for years) or it will be naughty :P

After spending hours and hours trying to set up the throttles I decided a run around the town might be an idea.
Stopped at some traffic lights with Mr Impatient in his (quite) fast VW Transporter (not as fast as a Sprinter) pushing me along. Lights changed and set off fairly conservatively then into second and booted it. The car slowed down. Slightly damp/greasy road and wheels were spinning but I wasn't accelerating.
How embarrassing paperbag

Tee hee...

I haven't done anything quite so visible to people around me yet. My most embarrassing ownership experience to date was losing my clutch hydraulics the 2nd time - this time in the middle of busy traffic in a city and feeling compelled to push the car with wife, 2 toddlers, a suitcase and full tank of fuel onboard about 500 yards to a spot where we could abandon without grinding the town to a halt.

I agree with the above though - you need to drive the car more! It's not about 'need' it's simply a case of 'why not?'.

I will confess though that I've used mine less over the last few months, but I hate charging the battery so I just decide to take it out for 20odd miles if it hasn't been driven for a while. It's getting detailed today though so it will get a charge and I'll chuck the car cover back over it for a while until the roads dry up a little.

Fortunately, the only time I've managed an accidental 180 in the Cerb, my error was obscured by the thick/acrid tyre smoke!!??!! paperbag

I fish tailed mine a few years back in cold damp conditions ... More driver error as I wasn't really driving to the conditions ....it did scare the st out of me tho going pass lamp posts side ways and wondering if I was going to hit the next one.
