Is there any form of side impact protection on the Cerb. I know it has a built in roll cage, but apart from that, can anyone shed any light?

They do indeed, there are rails running down the length of the doors. If you whip your door card off you can see them through the access panels for the control units etc.

Very little, there is a horizontal bar inside the door which is attached to the door frame, and of course you have the outriggers running between the front and rear wheels but thats about it!!

They pulled the door out after the crash ..... the door basically ended up against the transmission tunnel ..... lucky it was only me in the car

Now that is not a nice picture to see! - ouch. Did you hit something low, because the roof line is untouched?

Griffs and Chims and older, have zero side protection in the doors...doesn't bear thinking about too much.

I am surprised to hear that the Chimaera or Griffith would not have any side protection. Even the M series shipped the North America had side protection after '75/'76.

Ah ok, better than i thought was going to be there, but could do better lol. I heard that the roll cage is pretty good protection. A designer at TVR (who i met), told me about his Cerbera that (was one of the first off the production line, so he said) was stolen and the thief rolled the car several times after loosing control. Not much left of the car, but the thief was fine. So he concluded that the safety design was satisfactory, even if it was his car that ended up being the true life guinea pig!

Is the rear rollover bar attached to the chassis ? I have seen a few body of rebuilds on hear but I don't remember seei g much about the rollover bar.

If anyone knows where I can get a pair of braces to tie the front seats to the chassis let me know ,it worries me that tha seats are only connected to the fibreglass tub.

Try these chaps I know they do these for the Chiamera, can't be too different.
