Just ordered new door seals and didn't know if I needed to worry about the OG ones that have a flat part towards the lower front of the door? Do I need to replicate this or just fit the new ones as they are?
You'll probably find that the crush-seal part of the door seal is meant to be fully round, and only crush in to a flat shape when they get tired and deteriorate.gruffalo said:
I just pull the old one off and put the new ones on as they are, no other work needed.
Me too. Whipped out the driver's one, cut and replaced, then I relaised Id cut it short by an inch, leaving a gap
This is why I pay professionals to work on my car. Left the n/s one well alone.Stupid thing is they weren't leaking in the first place and just wanted to smarten the car up

Does anyone know if there's Two types of door seal ?
One for the early cars and one for the later versions ?

says:
Door seal to fit all Cerbera models. Sold per metre and 4M required per door. Early examples had a slightly different seal, but this can usually be substituted with TVR U1419 as it is a very similar although superior seal.
Thnks for that.
Their info is slightly conflicting with an experience I had at Power a few years back. They'd tried fitting the later seals, couldn't close the doors and said that the doors would need "shaving"
So they put the old one's back on.
However, I'm not certain if they were using the same one's that you linked to.
