I knew mine were there from day one.

Because they keep falling down!
I actually mean to take them out one day. It's like driving looking through a letterbox anyway.

...in the garage, where they belong! Got fed up with them flopping down all the time so removed them (not necessary anyway unless you're under 5'6")

...and the half pound weight saving meant I could have an extra pie!

cheers

Haven't got that at all being a LW, wish I had though as the dawn/dusk sun is a killer and wearing sunglasses just makes the whole world look black!

Not so bad if you're so tall your head is against the roof lining I guess...

Mine obviously havent flopped down otherwise I would have seen them before. The stiffness (ooh err) of them makes me think that the previous owners didnt know they where there either and have never been used.

I was fumbling in the dark when I found them but there seemed to be a small square of black velcro on the back of them which I assume would go with a corresponding piece of velcro on the rollbar cover/roof lining which would 'keep your floppy ones in the correct position'. Would normally say that this was a previous owners aftermarket attempt, but knowing TVR as we do, it was probably original fitment at the factory

What would be great is at the touch of a button, all the windows get blacked out, and have a variable darkness control... mmmm.... useful on those nights where you achieve the impossible and execute acrobatic routines in the confined space with the lady of that night... hehe

Is that why you've got a big arse crack on there?

I attempted this, but my 9 stage polish routine leaves the bonnet more slippery than a bananna gone commando!

How did you remove them? I thought they would be attached by Philips screws or Torx bolts, but all I can see is a screw thread and no nut

If I remember correctly, I "gently" bent them until one end popped off the horizontal stub attached to the brackets that are screwed to the header rail. Bit of a ham fisted approach, but they sprung back flat once removed!!

PS don't blame me if you try this and they snap!!

Impossible? No. Bl**dy difficult, and something you don't relish the thought of a second time? Definitely.

Now, the Elise... that was a challenge...

I took mine off as Sean describes. There is an 'advanced method' to adjust visor rod stiffness. Inside a visor is a tube split down one side, a little squeeze with pliars and the rod will fit tighter when re-introduced.
