OFFICIAL: 6 litre supercharged AJPV8!
Discussion
Yup you got it, 6 litre engine conversion for forced induction project is happening right now, final figures came in yesterday from block specialist and the operation has started!!!! Some severe engine mods, cross bolted 4 bolt solid gun metal main caps, bored out further, some space age liners etc etc and a number of other *classified* engine mods... cant believe it!
And, to top it all off, engine will be done by christmas!!!!
Feck, I'm over the freakin moon! Nothing beats shear cubic inches - add that to a HUGE racing blower - and bang - the engine rips out of the chassis and goes into orbit!
Pictures will go on website as soon as block modifications are complete and EN40C crankshaft/rods/pistons etc turn up... (too bad I'll be skint as a monkey, any volunteers for keeping me fed after this project????)

wtf is going to hold it? cause the ajp v8, from what i've seen of the block, can't be bored out too much so i'm guessing the stroke is being increased by a decent amount. that builds torque, especially with a charger. the changes you are making to the bottom end, its definately going to need them.
i'd be worried about twisting the frame, destroying the gearbox and diff and axles. its one thing to be able to generate that much power (and what a great thing that is) but is another to have the equipment to effectivly use it.
it will be great to see it going.

Hehe, its not a home grown job bud... (bloody hell, you should see this invoice!)
My request was 1000RWHP, more reliable than standard - guaranteed with warranty from the builder, beneficial enhancements to allow oil/filter changes without the need for removing anything or jacking that car up etc etc etc, and traction that works - thats exactly whats happening, every little component/ancillary/complete drivetrain - built custom or bought in from the states (race proven 2000HP+ components) - thats the deal. And a beautiful custom 6 speed box / custom differential - and a clutch that would latch onto a spinning jet turbine!
trust me - the only thing ripping in her is gonna be my arse when I make the first mistake of blipping that throttle in first gear! lol

you should do a magazine PH PORN and have pics of all the stuff...
i was thinking that the only stuff that could handle that power was the stuff coming out of dragracers in the states, them pro-stock pro-mod type cars
You'd be surprised to know how strong the AJPV8 block is... and with a few additions here and there, we're talking "built like a rock"...
The thing that was of most concern was the fact she's a flatplane setup, but we got that sussed out too... once she gets her dyno readings, she will be officially the most powerful road legal flat-plane V8 baby out there... the other one I know of is the twin-supercharged Ferrari F50 - but shes a V12 and she's only touching 700lb/ft torque too...
If you guys all chip in, I'll turn up with her at every drag event out there next year - we're gonna put the fear back in the name TVR - and leave all other 1000HP+ ricers/american block rides shaking... I'm doing this for the community! Not just myself... she will be shedding a lot more weight too - but thats another secret... hehe....
Less than 1000kg in weight, 1000+RWHP with 900lb/ft+ of torque and redlining at 7500.... (and gearing and differential ratio set to allow 289mph!) anyone care to do the maths?
Sounds sweet as...
Is RWHP Power at the rear wheels?
I just read the article on the Bugatti Veyron (www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=9491) , has anyone considered the problems that are mentioned it that such as heat disipation and availability of tyres?

Well, you seen the size of the engine in that thing? problem is, that Veyron engine is bloody hi-tech, to the nth degree! not forgeting the rest of the electronics it lugs around....
The AJPV8 is an oldskool "race-design" engine - and theres no fancy toys in the cerb - so we've had plenty of fun to change a lot of things - like a total of 11500CFM of air being pulled in to cool the whole lot down.... a few *classified* plans to keep things cool...

Whats the timeline for the build?
When do we see pics of the engine?
Come on man, details, details
Engine should be done by Christmas - then the fun starts with putting everything else around it... oil coolers, fuel coolers, intercooler, rad... 300AMP alternator, additional electric waterpumps etc etc etc... that'll be the easy bit, cos all in-house... the engine components bit is outsourced to a number of specialists to keep things a little more *hush, hush*, trade secrets and stuff.... we'll see how things go...

Guessing that T/C will be working most of the time...
