Driver door not opening....
Discussion
So I finally feel like a real TVR owner, my car has thrown its first wobbly.
Been out in the car all morning with no problems, covered in crap so gave it a wash. Parked it in the garage, went to put the battery conditioner on and realised I hadn't popped the bonnet, so tried opening the door but no joy.....
I assume it is something to do with the wash, but there are no obvious signs of water anywhere it shouldn't be. I have checked the control boxes in the boot and everything is dry. The boot opens fine as does the passenger door.
When I press the button I can hear the door locks doing something but it doesnt open. The window isnt dropping, but for the first few times it did (I used the manual entry to open the door).
It has pins at the bottom of the door, which I have have pushed about and fiddled a bit, but it all seems fine.
Any and all suggestions greatly received, I would like to get it fixed tomorrow, if I can......

This is almost always caused by corroded connectors inside the door. Take the door card off and clean up every connector you can find inside the door cavity.
If you still have problems after doing that then start looking at the the solenoid adjustment in the door frame, particularly if you can hear it triggering but the door does not open.

Hi James, well what a bummer. i have a problem on the inside button, I think it's the connection on that button and sure a little clean will sort it out. Did u use a power washer? that's something I never use as I not confident at all that the seals can keep out that sort of pressure. I use one of those plastic things u fill with water and pressurise with a hand pump to remove loose dirt and debris if it's bad. I never let it get caked on and if off for a weekend usually carry some detailing spray and microfibre cloths and give it a once over when no one is looking!! it's not that I'm OCD about cleaning (u should see my other cars!!) I just don't want to let it get to a state where it would justify a hose down/power wash!! Not using every day or having the balls to tackle the beast on such horrible roads probably helped!
