My alarm & immobiliser have totally given up during their time off in the rebuild.
I've bypassed the immobiliser no problems but I'm checking the wiring for the alarm to get a different one fitted. There seems to be just one alarm state signal that runs to the door control ECU & nothing going to the windows directly. So I guess the door control ECU both cuts off the outer door buttons & shuts the windows from that one signal?
I've either lost my one good fob for the old alarm or it totally given up now, either way I can't test that state signal.

Correct - it is just a single state signal. You should be able to check that it is working by applying 12v or earthing the signal wire.
