Discussion
Slowly getting my head round this one - it appears from looking back to previous threads and posts that there was very little in the way of a "standard" audio fitment to Cerberas (since when was anything to do with TVR "standard"?!
Anyway, suffice to say the previous owner has clearly modded the system somewhat, so I'm trying to establish what has / hasn't been done, and what to do next. However, he clearly had a sub or something in the boot (phonos and speaker cable hanging loose in there). The system that's left sounds pretty clear and well defined, but there's naff all low mid or bass. I want to pad it out (not MaxxXX it out), but don't want to lose any boot space (has to take baby buggy and parephenalia plus suitcases / briefcases etc.
(Measurments are approx, done in the dark with wonky tape!)
It's a 1996, with two little 4cm-ish tweeters in the door, what looks like a 6x9 in the centre of the dash, and two 10cm mids in the C-pillar.
All are badged Pioneer, and the 6x9 says "A6930" on it.
The chaps at Horizon Motorsport (fabulous indie) are sorting out a custom fit mounting for a 8 or 10 inch bass driver to fit in the helmet hole between the rear seats, which I guess will need an extra amp too.
The head is a newish Sony job with LCD display, motorised panel, MP3 playback etc, and include extra outputs and a sub out, so that's fine. Would the Pioneer speakers have been original, and would it worth replacing / augmenting them while I'm at it?
I see some Cerbies had lower door mounted speakers in lieu of the 6x9 for example.
Frankly as I'm pratting with picking up on mods that the previous owner(s) didn't do, plus Sports pipes etc, I don't want to go breaking the bank at this stage - is it worth doing it bit by bit? Get the bass driver in for now, and perhaps look at doing the others at a later date?
Would anyone like to post some installation pictures (or mail them to me) for inspiration? What have you guys found works well?
Just as a proviso - I'm a composer - I spend much of my time in studios listening to ridiculously accurate speakers - I know I'm not going to get that level of clarity in a car, and frankly I wouldn't want to, I just need a flexible system that'll cope with everything from choral, classical and jazz, through to drum n bass and electro! Not much to ask....!!

If you're planning to add a sports exhaust you might want to get that done before you change the ICE. The stereo might turn out to be either redundant or unhearable...
Mine's a 4.5 so the speaker setup is different but I found adding a sub and a speaker between the rear seats made a big difference. You get back some of the "oomph" which the engine drowns out.
Of course "I" didn't do the work, Joolz did...

Yeah... what he says.
Stereo is just for background noise as most of what you hear will be exhaust or wind noise.
If you do go ahead with it..... I took out the 6x9 as it was rubbish then replaced the tweeters with Infinity ones and cut holes in the door panel (it comes off easily) and put some 6" speakers in there (like the later cars).
Amp in the boot and sub will be fitted between the seats (when I get the time).....
The hole where the 6x9 was is now filled by an oil temp gauge and mdf, all leathered up to match the doors.

Go for it I say. Yes that V8 has its own sweet soundtrack, but personally I like to have a choice of music too. I've gone for two genesis amps in boot, which take minimal space. A diamond TDX sub between the rear seats (a bit on the MAX side i'm afraid - with magnet out). Boot pic as below (though not quite finished).
